Books

We were at Paragon before noon today as we had to drop by Citibank in order to get our new notes. It was a cinch and we even received 2 bags of mandarin oranges coupled with a stash of red packets.
I spotted this cute french / english hardboard book for dd at $4 and couldn't pass it up. Also bought these traditional tales in an ultra simplified form for her

Dinner

Our aunt Margaret from Australia is back for the chinese new year and cousin Chuen Neng is very nice to host the extended family to a welcome dinner at his home. His home, for the last 25 years, has all the character and well worn cosiness of a comfortable abode with no intrusion of new fangled renovations. Even his present indonesian maid is the first and only one he has had since 1982. Chuen Neng plied us with good wines and delectable foodEvery one enjoying a chitchatChuen Neng cheekily tried to give ice cream and desserts to dd behind my back but dd refused to accept the candies from the 'stranger'

Botanics

DD and I were at Botanics at 9 am to meet up with Auntie Elaine and Auntie Jamie. We were looking forward to this outing tho' it was a mad rush to get out of the house before 9am on a weekday. DD sometimes sleep till 9am or later. Even dh doesn't leave for work till way past 9 am. Dh made a special effort to wake up before 7am just to help me get everything ready today. Getting our bread handy in order to feed the fishDD posing in a very unglam squatting pose.

Hilarious

Our sunday dinner at Bukit room, SICC.
DD made 'friends' with this little girl
DD : hey, let me show you what I can do .....
DD kicking and flapping her legs while suspending herself on the chair had me in stitches.

Ferris

We are back to take that overdue ride on Downtown East's ferris wheel.
It was indeed a fun ride, tho' 2 rounds were a tad too brief if you ask me. Before we knew it, ride was over.
After the ride, we went to our favourite Lemongrass for dinner. DD had her dinner there too tho' she skipped the spicy dishes. DD clasping her hands for her prayer before meals

Overpriced

Our lunch at the overpriced Szechuan court, one of Fairmont's restaurant. One item on our bill stood out amongst the rest: a small serving of spinach (about half the portion of the smallest Crystal Jade serving) cost us the princely sum of $24 ++. The restaurant probably has its finer points, but they were completely lost on us.
