Sweet

Some sweet things that dd does -

1)I went for some electro surgery recently and dd was alarmed when she saw the 'wounds'. She 'ordered' me to rest and sleep and not move around. She told me "daddy and I will take care of everything" .
When she came home from school and saw me pottering around, she chided me "Why you never listen to me??" At first I was puzzled, not knowing what she was saying. Then she told me " I told you this morning to rest and sleep right ? Why you never listen to me ? "

2) I hit my toe against the piano chair recently, and the tip of my toe nail broke. DD came over to examine my toe upon hearing my yelp and promptly bent down and kissed my toe - "to make it better".
For the next two days, she never forgot to kneel down and kiss my toe to make it better. I would have stopped her but could never quite pre-empt her fast enough to intercept her action.

4 1/2

Coming to 4 1/2 years old,

DD loves -
eating (bread, cookies, rice, etc)
going to parties,
wearing swirly dresses,
watching Caillou on TV,
having her hair tied up,
wearing costume jewellery,
whispering 'secrets' amongst her friends and to me,
having playdates,
going to school

She can now -
go to bed by herself at 8pm with her room door closed,
wake up in the morning, grab a book and sit down alone to read quietly without waking me up ,
pack up her playroom neatly ,
eat her meals completely on her own,
go to the bathroom by herself at home,
take medication by syringe willingly (finally),
read simple books,
complete simple arithmatics,
sight read and play music scores,
speak mandarin ,
write simple mandarin ,
read simple chinese books,
submerge her head in the water at the pool

KL

One of the happiest moments of being in Malaysia for dd (and mommy). The cheap 'rides' like this Noddy ride located randomly around the mallsAnyone who frequents KL will be aware that prices (in general) are comparable to Singapore. This restaurant 'Madam Kwan's' is a 'famous' eatery located at KLCC for the longest time. DH and I were never 'wowed' by our previous visits. For old times' sake, we thought we would give it another go. Big mistake. It was our worst meal in KL. Super pricey; salty noodles, dry, hard chicken and lousy service to match. Stay clear !! A visit to Times square theme park put dd in good spirits
A kids' meals at Macdonalds is really worth it. About RM4 and they gave the smurt toy set just like in Sg. No wonder dd is smiling from ear to ear.

Convoluted

Dinner for the grown ups and games for the kiddos at our place. Playing musical chairs Hilarious to watch the kids playFelt really sorry for Joshua - they were playing masks game and when it was Joshua's turn to wear the tiger mask - he told dd that 'tiger was hungry and needed to eat up the children'.

Unfortunately for the sweet boy , the clock had just struck 8pm - dd's bedtime and like clockwork, she became super cranky and started bawling and pushing Joshua for being 'naughty because he cannot eat the children who are her friends'. Very convoluted and embarassing. Sigh. Really felt super sorry for Joshua. Thankfully, the good natured boy looked more bewildered than hurt.
