Ion

DD's day out at the newest mall in town - the swanky Ion which is a joint effort between HongKong's SunHungKai and Singapore's Capitaland.

Admiring the new Muji flagship storeCheck out how spacious the mall is. You could play football here without fear of the ball hitting any of the shopfronts. Look mom, these 'stools' are lighted up.

DD was rather naughty. She took this party hat from the shelf and placed it on a different shelf despite being told not to do so.

Playdoh

A cosy little dimsum lunch with just dd and I. She ate whatever dimsum I was eating and was well behaved thru out, stopping only to 'chit chat' with any passing waitress.
After lunch, we went shopping and amongst the items we picked up, is this nice alphabet n numbers playdoh set at $9.90.

Buggy

Wish every supermarket has one of these for the kids. Its fabulous for keeping the little tikes entertained while the mommy does some hurried supermarketing. Its a little buggy with a supermarket trolley attached behind. DD loves this ride so much that she's still recounting the experience many days later.

Celebrities

What does Meryl Streep, Sarah Jessica Parker and other big name celebrities have to do with the dusty shelves in the children's section of your neighbourhood library? The answer lies with these discs and I was surprised to come across them in the library. Wondered if they were the same ones that Lynn was mentioning to us about, some time back. Its made up of a few short stories in each disc and comprise of 2-D animations (think: old fashion cartoons) with narrations by these celebrities. Unfortunately, not all the stories are engaging, the colors were alittle dull and dd got bored after the first couple of stories.

Refrain

This pair of squeaky shoes have an all time loudest squeak of them all. The racket that dd creates as she walks around in them can be heard many metres away and is a strict no-no if we do go to the library.
DD gets tremendously tickled by the noise and insists on stomping around many times just to hear the squeaks. At least in this pair of shoes, we have no problem getting her to walk on her own rather than her insisting on us carrying her.
Which incidentally, leads me to one interesting observation of mine. Many times, when I walk past other parents carrying their kids who are of dd's age, I often hear the same refrain: "look, your friend (refering to dd) also walking, you must walk too, cannot carry".
The truth is, we say the same thing to dd all the time too ! And no, it doesn't always work =P. Somehow, this refrain is a common 'strategy' used by all parents who face the same issue of their todd insisting on being carried.

Overdosed

We had an OD of japanese food this weekend. We made our first visit to Waraku japanese restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at what a child-friendly restaurant it was.
Upon settling us down in our seats, the waitress promptly gave dd a bright pink tambourine toy. Their child's meal was also really a decent meal at $6.50 and it came with a Disney storybook. Needless to say, dd was most pleased.

Polliwogs

We have been meaning to visit Polliwogs but never got the time. Today we finally did so, at the invitation of our friend, Vanessa, who was holding her open house there as well. DD was busy entertaining herself with the different playstations: ok, an extra pizza in the oven, table is set, everything ready .. Hmm, let me check each slice of pizza just to be sureNow, let me go check on my ice cream stall and count my takings for the day . Wooowww.. so much $$ .. ice cream stall makes easy $$ Better hold on to my $$ whilst I get a pail of water to make more ice cream.
