With dd getting older and demanding a wider variety of dishes for her meals, there has been considerably more cooking going on in the household. So we decided to buy our very first chinese wok to complement our current WMF frying pans and pots. And since Taka is currently having a 15% off storewide, we decided to grab the opportunity to get one.
Our pride and joy, Mai shia Glenys was born in the month of April, in 2007. She was baptised on 9th of September 2007 at St Ignatius Church.

Convos
We have the most hilarious convos with dd. Many times we can't remember the details subsequently so I decided to blog these down :
DD: popo can I play the train set now?
(popo had bought a train set for dd and we were enroute home in popo's car)
Popo: No, you go home first , then play toy ok?
DD : (looking at me) mommy, why popo say must go home then pray train ? (she promptly clasped her hands below her chin - to demonstrate 'pray'and looked at me, perplexed )
Mommy : No, popo say 'play' not 'pray'
DD: No , popo say 'pray' !
(This 'argument' went on for a while before I gave up)
Mommy: Popo didn't say clearly ok? She wants to say 'play'.
DD: Ohhhhh (looking pacified)... popo want to say 'play' not 'pray'.
*************************************
Mommy: Maish , come here (me calling from the bedroom)
DD: (running to me) Pardon mommy ? Mommy pardon ?
DD: What are you talking to me about?
Mommy: (trying not to laugh at her funny sentence) Bring your toys out ( her toys were strewn all over the bed)
DD: Nooo, I am busy - I am playing my toys outside and these toys is for the bed. And I can take my toys to the bedroom, because mommy say cannot put on bed right?
Mommy : (completely befuddled by her covoluted sentence) Just bring your toys out
DD: Cannot like this right ?? I am busy !
Mommy: (trying not to laugh again) ok, I will throw away all your toys on the bed
DD: Cannot like this right ? right ?
Mommy: (calmly) Quick
DD decides its not a bargainable issue and quickly grabs all the toys lest they get dumped.

Hort
We seem to be on a row. Another park visit !
DD was summoned from lala land unceremoniously this afternoon as we had arranged to meet Linda, Chris and li'l Carmen at Hort park. DD was still looking surly when we arrived.
It being our first visit to this park, we were completely wowed! The decor and design were extremely 'modern' and we barely had enough time to explore much of the huge grounds after dawdling for a long time at the nice playground area.
Li'l Carmen did a good job at being 'jiejie' to dd.

Backpack
Finally got my hands on dd's new backpack today! Its her second 'Stephen Joseph' bag and its meant for her to use when she starts pre-nursery at St James. It has her name thoughtfully emblazoned across the top so that hopefully she won't come home with the wrong bag =P.Speaking of preschool, i received my new youngparents mag in the post today and stumbled upon this article regarding long waitlists at popular preschools.
Not surprisingly, St James was ranked as one of the longest waitlist. I also learnt a few things from the article - St James has the largest kindy enrolment in Singapore; the premises also has lush greenery, an eco pond + pet farm; a computer centre; arts studio and a heated swimming pool.
It also had the cheapest school fees amongst those preschools listed as well as one of the lowest teacher-student ratio.

Plant
First day of the new term at sm. Sensei brought back an interesting gift for each of us when she was holidaying in China last week. Its a little 'egg' with a plant in it that grows as you water it daily. And the plant comes inscribed with some words =P.
Sensei did an experiment herself and showed us the different stages of plant growth. Looks really interesting !! Apart from this 'egg', she also gave each kid a party pack of toys - because its children's day today!
