Finally completed our house move ! Believe you me, it was a true blue herculean task.
From the conception of the design, to the fabrication, to the completion, to the buying of furnishings and finally the shifting in - nothing would have been possible without His Holy grace.
We moved none of our old furnishings and everything was either customised or bought to fit in with the ID's recommendation.
Most of our furnishings were about 8 years old so there wasn't much regret.
The most painful moment was parting with our piano. Our first piano and the main reason for dd's dramatic improvement in her piano playing. I would have loved to move it along with us, but we had decided to commit to an exam model for dd since she is already preparing for her ABRSM.
Sadly, in the search for a good owner for our piano, some people thought it was a faulty lemon and that we were trying to fob it off hence. Sigh, I won't have sold it to anyone who thought that anyway. Between dh, dd and I, it was a teary, heartbreaking farewell to the piano.
Our brand new 'made in japan' U1 came with 4 free tunings, two benches (one adjustable), metronome and cleaning set. At close to $10,000, its currently the single most expensive piece of non electrical furniture in my house =P Why do these things cost so much ? Thankfully, the sales person that handled our sale was a really nice, experienced chap. Gave us good advice and after sale service. 
Really very touched that auntie Peggy tracked down matching hand and bath towels as a gift for us. She even checked what color my bathroom was so that she could buy the right color. Many thanks !! :)
