An innocent trip out to grab breakfast on Sunday turned out disastrous as the whole family fell ill from food poisoning one after the other.
Surprisingly , it was dh ( the strongest amongst us) who fell ill first. Fever, diarrhoea, the works on the same day. Two days later, dd who had managed to withstand the evil bug so far, shocked us by puking massive at 12 midnight in her sleep. Consequently, she puked non stop that WHOLE night - one puke every half an hour .
DH and I were both so dog tired. By the time the night was up, I caught a chill and started developing flu symptoms the following day.
In the morning, we brought dd to the pd who gave her a whole bunch of meds. By the fourth day, I was hit with fever, diarrhoea, vomitting. It was now my turn to be sickly. The pain of being ill myself coupled with seeing dd so ill and dh struggling (himself not recovered) to look after both of us really made the days of the week super dark.
My light at the end of the tunnel ? DH. Who in spite of being ill himself, drove out to buy me this cake:
Initially he had wanted to surprise me with a dinner this week - to celebrate my 2 years as a sahm but had his plans derailed when we were hit by all these ailments. Hence he reckoned my favorite chocolate cake was a poorer alternative.
