What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Lunch with dh and dd at TungLok Signatures where dd had her first charsiew pao then on to join birthday boy, Dylan and his guests at the Gymboree Harbourfront. Here are some pics : DH sharing his favorite char siew bao with dd.

GSS 2

Never expected the GSS to be so 'interesting'. Generally, sale time is not a time that I usually shop for clothes. 1) You can never get your size/color 2) You can never get a fitting room without q-ing behind 20 other bargain hunters 3) A sahm with baby in tow, is hardly a 'versatile' shopper who can squeeze in between a zillion other shoppers 4) You have to q (again) behind 30 others to pay for your purchases.

Today, Ah mahmah drove over to our house to jaga dd whilst I dashed out for my pedicure at OUB and shopping in Taka. After the pedicure, I decided to take a train down to Orchard. I was impressed that my ezlink card could still function after being dormant for the last 2 or more years. My last train/ bus ride was in 2006.

My first stop was Gap. They were offering 30+10% off. I got 1 dress and 1 top. I went on to Taka , bought 2 pairs of jeans and 1 book for dd. Moving on to Paragon, I couldn't find an evening gown in my size, but I managed to clinch one blouse. By that time, I was beat.

By my reckoning, GSS is a good time to buy clothes because its a month long event, unlike the usual 3day sale event that a million other shoppers flock to on the same day. Hence its not as pandemonium-ish, and possible to get clothes to your liking. Esp if you can take some time off on a weekday afternoon to hit the malls. Happy shopping :)

Day-off

DH took a day off from work today to spend time with the family :) .
Early in the morning at 11 am, We went to stock up on dd's organic foods at our usual organic supplies shop. We have decided to change almost all of dd's usual repertoire of dishes in a bid to keep her interested in her meals. Meal times which used to be 15 mins affairs have now degenerated into 30 mins or more and worse still, sometimes, with her not cleaning out her bowl.

We had lunch at Bakerzin UE sq after we had finished our marketing. DD got to eat some white wine creamsauce linguine with mushroom. Not sure was that the reason she fell asleep soon after =P. We liked the restaurant and found it a viable venue for a mummies' gathering, with its new kids concept layout.
After lunch we went to pick up our title deed before heading to Tiong Bahru Plaza. Tom and Step was having a sale so we picked up some combi stuff before going to the basement supermarket to do a round2 of our 'marketing' for the day. Round2 was meant for our household groceries.

Hardly a 'relaxing' day for dh since he was doing all the driving round, but at least the family got to spend time together and dd was squealing away happily at the special treat of a family gaigai during a weekday =P

GSS

Start of the GSS! Ever since dd came along, the word 'sale' has garnered new dimensions in its significance. Por por came round to fetch me and dd for shopping at Taka and Vivocity. Met Lynn at Taka and we spent some time browsing together. My mum and I were deciding between Bfree or Aprica bottles when my mum commented that since Aprica bottles are made in China, then we should buy the bfree ones which Lynn pointed out were swiss made (my mum has a preference for things non-china made =P). My loot at Taka : 2 Bfree bottles (less15+10%) ; 2 pigeon glass bottles (less20+10) ; 1 munchkin snap lid snack cups (less30+10) ; 3 pigeon wet wipes; 1 set of 3 pigeon toothbrush (20+10) ; 1 pigeon med paste for prickly heat; 1 pigeon seabream food pack ;2 corelle plates (for supplementing my corelle dinner ware). After stopping by Tiffany's to collect my engraved item, we headed off to Vivo.
My loot at Vivo : 1 hello kitty masak set from TRU; 1 Mphosis choker (less 50) ; 1 salad spinner from Tangs.
Its only the first day of the GSS, better save some quota for more good deals to come .........

Perth

Perfect weather (12-19 deg), good food and great fun =D. Can't find a better way to sum up our first family holiday. The SQ flight there and back was great cos of the very nice service staff we had on board both ways. DD's fare was $300+ and came with post weaning meal or jar foods and a goodie bag. She was happy enough on the flight, busying herself with chair climbing or her toys. We managed to clear all immigration checks smoothly (both in Aust n SG) which were very strict.

The service apartment we booked (3 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms) was spacious and comfy. The nice weather in Perth also meant longer nap times for dd ! Maybe her 'growth' hormones might get a boost during this holiday since she slept so much =P. We enjoyed trying out various recommended restaurants (Brass Monkey, K on Hay, Gino, Sen5es, Manhatten, Anchorage, etc) which were fantastic, albeit a little pricy. Average price per person per meal came to A$55. Now that we have joined the ranks of 'experienced' travellers with kids, we are already planning for our second trip!

Studio

Impressed. With the way our studio shots have turned out. Especially since dd refused to cooperate or smile when asked to =P. We had the shots done on dd's birthday - to commerorate her passing the one year mark. Our previous photography session in a different studio had us all smiling cheesily into the camera and with similiar props and poses repeated for all customers patronising this studio. Hence our search for this alternative studio. Glad to say, the search has paid off! Here's a glimpse of the shots....
