Petite

It helps tremendously when there are other kids or toys available for dd during our routine house visiting. Putting myself in her shoes, I would be bored to tears too if otherwise. Our last 'stop' for the day was Sylvia's house, where dd was kept entertained by a pile of toys and some kids her age. DD with another little girl 3 months older than her. I was really really surprised to see that dd was quite abit taller than her as I have kinda gotten used to dd always being the most petite with others her age.

Caterpillar

DD has been completely deprived of any opportunity at potty training. Much as we have wanted to, we just never got round to it. The convenience of a disposable diaper always seem to win the day and hence we have deferred the usage of the potty. So it was with great surprise when dd told me today that she wanted to poop, asked for her 'potty time' and promptly pooped (for the first time) into her potty. DD was so curious about looking at her own poop that she pointed at it and said 'caterpillar' when she saw the elongated (with pointed tip) shape of the poop. Getting my hopes up at this point is a little premature. My subsequent hopes for more potty pooping hasn't quite materialised yet.

Neglect

As with boxing day, the day after the 2 official cny PHs is usually good for some sales at the malls and popo was all geared up and looking forward to hitting the malls with dd and I.

Not wanting to disappoint popo, I got ready for our day out. However, before popo arrived to pick us up, dd started to whine for me to read books and do games with her. I felt really bad declining her as I know that in the run up to the cny, with all the spring cleaning and preparations, I have completely neglected and sidelined all her books and games. For the last 2 weeks or more, I don't think I have read even a single book / done a single game with her =(. Hope I can make it up to dd soon.

Prepositions

DD has been reasonably well behaved this long weekend. Many a times when conversation dwindled between relatives who only have a chance to meet up once a year, she will cheerfully oblige an answer to all the different questions thrown at her =P.

DD: Daddy is sitting on the chair
Qn: Where is popo?
DD: Popo in the kitchen. Cooking cooking. Stir stir stir.
Qn: Where is yee po?
DD: yee po in kitchen cooking fish
All her answers were fully correct and I was impressed by her 'detailed' answers, but what startled me the most was to hear her using the various prepositions correctly as I have never taught her, nor correct her grammatically. It really warmed my heart to hear her using them relevantly. I had expected her to just point her finger to indicate where daddy, popo or yee po were =P.

CNY

Happy chinese new year !!!

Our first stop to Tai po's house kills 2 birds with one stone since ah gu's house is just next door to hers. DD waiting patiently for a turn at playing with the ball whilst her 10months old cousin examines it curiously.

Gentle dd still waiting, withholding the urge to grab the ball away Almost a century of age difference here. Tai po speaking in a mixture of english and cantonese to dd.Another one of dd's cousin, Han Ching, who bagged the recent 'best houseman' award at NUH. DD really enjoyed being 'entertained' by Han Ching and were so inseperable that she refused anyone else's offer to carry her. DD's yee po, who has been my favorite aunt from young. I was surprised to discover that dd also has a strong affinity for this yee po of hers. Yee po has only ever been out with dd once before but when dd saw her today, she clambered only for her attention and no one else's.

DD loved this cute water feature in yee po's garden. She kept badgering kongkong for permission to go 'play water'.DD with her cousinsDD wishes everyone a happy NIU year !

Fitflops

We were at Paragon to get another 2 pairs of Fitflops. I like my white leather fitflops so much that we have decided to get a second pair for myself and a pair for dh as well. My new black patent fitflops

Trike

DH and I left dd at ah ma's house before heading to Shangri La's The Line buffet restaurant for lunch. As usual, the spread was sumptuous and we barely had enough tummy room left by the time we hit the teppenyaki ice cream section.

After our lunch, we went off to buy dd a cheap-charlie trike for $39. Pardon the unattractive colour. That was the only color they had.

After browsing for the trike , we were slightly late for our massage appointment. It was a well deserved massage which dh and I enjoyed immensely. They gave us the usual couple room and the masseues got to work, rubbing out the kinks and knots in our body. DH got his usual super strong masseue who managed to get him snoring within half an hour.
